Greatest Growth Statement: Communication
My junior year at DRSS I grew the most in Communication. Communication is essential to success both inside and outside of school, and it becomes increasingly crucial as one ages and gets more independent and closer to college. Communication is important at DRSS during complete group projects, as sometimes your partners are in different class periods and you have to collaborate creatively. I have used google docs, messengers, emails, and various other communication methods. I have grown in answering emails promptly and communicating clearly in visual and auditory projects. An example of this is my Advanced Biomedical Sciences capstone project. I communicated with my group often via google docs and email, and I communicated with my audience with speeches and video clips. I also used communication often outside of DRSS to correspond with my contacts and do things like request letters of recommendation or organize events. As a Service Officer in NHS and team captain of our Relay for Life team, I must communicate with event planners at Wright State and relay that information to my team and the rest of NHS. As an Element Leader in the Civil Air Patrol, I communicate with my commanding officers and the cadets I am responsible for several times a week. I grew in responding to these communications promptly and setting deadlines for others to respond so that things would get done.
